TCOnow! for Industry Application Consolidation is an analytical software tool designed to help you understand the technical and financial implications of virtualization. By answering a limited number of questions, TCOnow! will generate a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparison for moving an existing application from Windows or Linux servers to a virtualized Intel environment. You will be able to compare physical and virtualized servers on Dell, HP Proliant and IBM xSeries.

Interview Process:		First you can decide what you would like to compare. You can evaluate newer Intel hardware running logical partitioning software sold by VMWare. The software simultaneously compares the total cost of ownership of a consolidation project on any two of the following three platforms: Dell, HP ProLiant, and IBM xSeries. You can choose to consolidate vertical industry and legacy applications, or deploy a Windows solution. You will also be able to assess one or more of the following applications: accounting/finance, asset management/maintenance, business intelligence, document management/archive, engineering, file management, financial analysis, human resources, LDAP/firewall, mail communication, statistical/technical computing, supply chain management, systems management, or web.

Results:		After you have entered all of your company specific information, the software combines it with the industry knowledge to generate a financial and technical business report. This allows you to see your analysis on a side-by-side basis.

A Step Further:		Once you have completed your analysis, you can go back into the software to change any of your decisions or assumptions. In this feature, you can continue to alter your analysis until you have reached your final conclusion.
