CIOview Products

CIOview Player Version 4.x

New Installation Instructions

The CIOview Player is the foundation software for CIOview's ROInow! and TCOnow! products. Below are simple installation instructions. Once you have successfully installed and registered your CIOview Player software, a world of new ROInow! and TCOnow! content modules will be available to you!

Systems Requirements
  • Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Windows XP (Service Pack 2), or Windows 7
  • Internet Explorer version 6.x or higher
  • A connection to the Internet

Step 1: Install the CIOview Player Software

1) Double click the "CIOview Player setup.exe" file that you downloaded to your computer. (If you do not have the file, you can download it by clicking here.)

2) Proceed through the installation screens, and click "Finish."

NOTE: The CIOview Player requires Microsoft's .NET Framework version 1.1 and version 2.0. If you do not already have both installed on your computer, it will automatically be added during the CIOview Player installation process. This process typically is automatic, however, if you have a problem downloading the .NET framework, or if you need to reinstall, you can access Microsoft .NET from the CIOview Web site: download .NET version 2.0 and download .NET version 1.1. Note that the CIOview Player requires specific versions of .NET; you may install multiple versions of .NET on your system and they will all work. The Microsoft .NET Framework installation may take a few minutes, and may require you to reboot your computer during installation.

Step 2: Register the CIOview Player

1) Launch the CIOview Player from the "Start/Programs/CIOview Player/CIOview Player V4" menu, or from the bar-chart icon shortcut.

2) The registration form should automatically appear. If it does not, go to "Help -> Register," complete the registration form and click "Register." Note: If you have a Registration Code enter it into the form, however, a Registration Code is not required.

3) Close the CIOview Player.

Step 3: Activate your CIOview Player License

1) Check your email for a message from CIOview. It will include your unique license for the CIOview Player. Note that the Player is licensed per PC. If you want to run the Player on a different PC, you must install and register the Player on that system. (This applies to all unique hardware configurations.) To license your software, drag and drop your license file ("player.license.txt") from your email to your PC desktop.

2) Launch the CIOview Player from the "Start / Programs /CIOview Player/CIOview Player V4" menu or your desktop shortcut.

3) Go to "Content / Browse for Additional Content Modules." Your valid and available TCOnow! and ROInow! licenses are listed here.

  • You may download any TCOnow! or ROInow! content modules for which you have a valid license by clicking the "Install" button.
  • You may purchase licenses for other products by clicking the "Buy Now" button to proceed to the CIOview online store.

4) Go to "File / New" to start your project.
